Meet the Chef
When I was young, I loved cooking. On TV, I’d watch amazing chefs make some incredible dishes and wonder, why can’t I do that? I wanted people to crave my food the same way I craved the dishes of those amazing chefs. That’s where my love for food developed. As I grew older, I started to gain as much knowledge in food and cultures as I could. I have always been fascinated with where food comes from and how it’s prepared, and I am always willing to try a new ingredient or type of food.
At 14 I started working in a made to order ice cream and sandwich shop. It was locally owned and had been a staple in the town for 30 years by the time I started there. They made simple recipes, but they were good, and people always came back. In that restaurant I learned the kind of dedication it took to run your own restaurant.
The hours, the confidence, the know how - it takes tremendous dedication to make it work. For 26 years I have honed my craft and learned from every experience. Now, just like the chefs I admired as a kid, I have the opportunity to help others explore this wide world of food. So come by BBQ Lab and try something new, a fusion of American BBQ and international flavors - and let's test some of my theories!!
